Smart Cities Interplatform Working Group (GICI) was created in 2012, under the Economy and Competitiveness Ministry auspicious, to respond to the existent needs in the Smart Cities arena. The Working Group, coordinated by FutuRed, is made up of 21 Spanish Technology Platforms related to smart cities, and has the following objectives:
To create a vision, and a strategic agenda, that allows the proper development of the City of the Future, including transversal content from all the involved platforms, with special emphasis in the technologies used by cities.
To coordinate the participation in national and international forums on Smart Cities.
To advise the Ministry in the required needs in the smart cities area.
To strength the Spanish presence and role in the international arena, especially in Europe.
